what is the name of this movie?

it was this anime movie i saw a few years ago. pretty cool and verry beautiful. i think it was animated in 3d and made to look animated. you know how they do it. meaning it cant be that old. the whole thing took place in the air. the main character was a boy. it was pretty steampunk. i cant remember the name for the life of me. it was this anime movie i saw a few years ago. pretty cool and verry beautiful. i think it was animated in 3d and made to look animated. you know how they do it. meaning it cant be that old. the whole thing took place in the air. the main character was a boy. it was pretty steampunk. i cant remember the name for the life of me. and no it isnt steamboy. also the more i think, something about some vehicle that the main character was working on and other people on the ship or blimp or whatever were getting angry at him. and there was one part where he has to man the guns of the ship during a fight and his friend dies. it was very long and it was not last exile.
