What is a good 3D modeling and rendering program?

I have heard of both maya and cinema 4D for use in 3D modeling and rendering. I want to use one of these programs to create high quality renderings and images. Should I use cinema 4D in conjunction with body paint or maya and zbrush?

1. I've used both 3d studio max and cinema with maya and I perfer cinema 4D you wont need zbrush
