- you can use plywood and paint it..its usually sturdy too
- Foam board is great for model making, you can get it in craft and art shops. It makes sturdy walls, with a certain wall like thickness in scale. I draw the plan out first on tracing paper, put it on the foam board, then cut the floor out around it. The marks should leave where the walls go. It's a quite easy and precise method.
- Math project > Create house since you have design already, figure out why math is involved for this, so that measurements are used correctly in ratio for sizes, so 4 inches equals 10 feet or so, 2 bedrooms , best to have on second floor, (both can be on main floor if no upstairs is used), 2 bathrooms (with 2 bathrooms, one could be on separate floor, vertically adjacent to washroom on main floor,) 1 kitchen , near entrance or facing morning sun location with window, 1 garage , separate from house, or build concrete firewall to divide from home, living room, towards from of house near entrance, or separate entrance from other location, if no basement used, so have small crawl space for foundation, ________ cardboard, bristol/ poster board, cutout sections and tape or glue or staple together, could use recycled boxes, thin balsa type wood sheets, heavy paper, there is foam with paper layers, check dollars stores for thin craft colored paper, have paints, scissors, tape, ruler, notepad, option to make small furniture, basically a miniature doll house, have numbers and measurement written out for drafting blueprint purposes, homemade 3d scale model house http://afinecollection.wordpress.com/2009/11/11/house-model-ca-1947/ http://www.channel4.com/4homes/on-tv/grand-designs/grand-designs-extras/the-house-that-kevin-built-08-07-04_p_3.html http://juicy-bits.typepad.com/juicy_bits/2009/02/77-wont-you-be-my-neighbor.html http://www.modernss.com/shopping/family_sale_0_familyid_4349_cat_964 http://flduprey.over-blog.com/categorie-10149618.html http://www.quickarc.com/english_Quickparts_1.aspx?Page=/index.aspx ..
