3D - 2

Can I play the new 3D playstation games in 3D on my regular TV?

I have a 1080p 42' TV. I got this right before all the 3D TVs started coming out. Do you need a 3D to play these games in 3D or watch the movies? I don't care about regular TV in 3D, but when I put in a 3D blue ray disk, and I put on glasses, will I be able to see it in 3D?

  1. Not likely. The only way it could work is if the software in your game produces the simple two-color cinema style 3D and you watch it with two-color tinted glasses. The 3D system currently available on 3D TVs uses an electronic switching method to present the individual images to each eye. Your regular TV cannot do that.
  2. Sorry, no. The 3DTVs have an (IR) emitter that syncs to the glasses so it knows when to open and shut (shutter glasses). Your PS3 won't even output 3D because the firmware update allows the PS3 to recognize when it's connected to a 3D capable set. I sold my first HDTV and bought a 3DTV. Maybe you can do an exchange still?
  3. Nope, sorry. You need a 3DTV to see anything in 3D with glasses.
