3D - 2

Chuck your new flat screen HD ready TV in the bin because 3d TV is coming! Are they kidding?

After all the big companies advertised to the public to spend thousand of pounds upgrading to HD TVS, they are now expecting us to throw them in the bin to upgrade once again to 3D TVS! Is anyone out there really willing to spend again on your home entertainment any time soon?

  1. I don't think so. Most of the 3D units look like hell anyhow. Now, I haven't seen the Panasonic 3D plasma yet; I have heard that one rocks. But I've seen the LCD/LED units and the picture is awful even with the special glasses. There is so little content available also. Why spend the money if you can't watch 3D on it? There are only a few movies and those will get really old after you watch them about 3-4 times.
  2. Don't worry, you have some time before 3DTV becomes a major thing. Are you even interested in 3D? It's not for everyone, so please don't be one of those people that has to have the latest technology even when they don't know how to use it. For me, it's not a big deal because I've been holding out and waiting for my crt to die before I upgrade to a real hdtv(I do have a $80 hdtv tuner on my pc.) Now that 3DTV is coming, I want to get one as soon as I can.
  3. First of all who in the tv business said that they expect everyone to throw out a 2 year old tv just to buy a 3d tv. I don't think that is the expectation from the tv retail market. Of course they are pushing the 3d tv but they don't expect everyone to build a big bonfire in the middle of a neighborhood and have a tv burning party. They expect people to buy the 3d tvs as the old ones wear out over the next few years or for those who just want to purchase a 2nd tv for some reason. Also, the 3d tv is actually a 2d tv that has the 3d feature. At least for now it will be used mostly for 2d until more 3d content becomes available. In the future all tvs will have the 3d feature, but not everyone will buy the 3d glasses and just use it as a 2d tv. It is almost the same price as a non 3d tv. When plasma first came out they were around 15000 to 25000 dollars. These are way lower in price.
  4. Someone is just a hater, or they feel scammed because they just bought a TV. I bought a 1080p in 2005, and a 3DTV a month ago. Sold my old one on the net and got some cash back. All I know is that I'm a happy person with a new set. They are coming out with laser TVs too.. are you mad about that? lol You must be one of those people who get mad at a movie because it has a sequel.
