What do you think about 4D ultra sounds?

I saw on the internet a place that will give a 4D ultra sound and tell you the babies sex @ 15 weeks. It costs $59. Do you think it's worth it at only 15 weeks. I know the pictures come out really cool.

  1. I wouldn't bother at 15 weeks, Im going to be 28 weeks when I go for mine, but we already got told the sex at 20 weeks, so this ultrasound is just a little bonus for us... it costs $150 for 30 mins, cd and 2 printed pics and video of babs moving about...I wouldn't bother at 15 weeks because baby is going to look VERY skeleton like at this point, apparently 28-30 weeks is the best time to go because baby has grown thicker skin and is putting on the chub, meaning babs looks more like a human, instead of an skeleton like alien swimming about but 60 bucks is cheap, if it was that cheap here I might think about it just for fun and go back for another in a couple weeks time...its up to you tho
  2. I really enjoyed having a 4d ultrasound with my son although i had left it too late and he was too large to get those extra special pics. My son looked nothing like the 4d ultrasound, but it didn't matter, it was a great experience. 15 weeks is fine to get it, but i would recommend between 22-28 weeks when bubs is grown a bit more but not too big to make it hard to see. It's your choice, a baby's gender can be seen from 13 weeks, depending on bubs development and whether or not bubs is camera shy, but it's accuracy is not as good as 18-20 weeks.
  3. If you don't mind spending the money, then go ahead and do it. There's no guarantee you'd see the sex though. Usually the accuracy of the sex is better determined at 18-20 weeks. But the photos would be cool to have and $59 sounds pretty good!!
  4. I wouldn't go that early for sexing...The poster who was told the sex at 12 weeks could be in for a major surprise at their later scan unless it was confirmed at a sonogram done around 20 weeks! Baby's sex is almost impossible to determine via ultrasound before 16-18 weeks. All babies appear to have a penis. There is a theory which says that the angle at which the 'dangle' points can tell you what the sex is from early on, but even that isn't always correct and most sonographers don't seem to know about that one anyways! If you do want to pay for a sex scan, I'd wait a few more weeks for a few reasons. One would be that at closer to 18 weeks, it's more likely to be correct and at 15 weeks, the baby will look rather alien like and not at all like what s/he will look like later on. We had one done at 31 weeks and our little guy looked amazing!
  5. I think you should wait till ur at least 27-2 8 weeks then it is really worth it that is when I did mine and the baby has a fully formed face . But it was worth it
