3D - 2

For everyone that had a 3d or 4d ultrasound?

I want to get a 3d or 4d ultrasound when i get further along, im only 20 weeks and i just think those ultrasounds give u a pretty good view of your growning baby. Well my question is do they perform a 3d/4d ultrasound the same as a regular ultrasound? Just wondering never had one thanks for answering!

  1. thats what im wondering! ive had friends who had the 3d ultrasounds done, and u can actually see the baby's face!!!its amazing!
  2. Yes its performed just the same way a normal one is, the picture is just much clearer. I got one done in my 7th month due to some problems I was having. It was a very neat experience. I could clearly see my daughters face. What made it even more special was, my husband was away at the time, so the tech wrote Hi Daddy right below her face so I could send it to my husband.
  3. Yeah. They start off with the "regular" 2D one, to line up the imaging device, then they switch over to the 3D (4D just means live 3D imaging, like a movie, rather than still shots). We had it done around 30 weeks and it was absolutely amazing. Worth every penny. The device they put on your belly is the same, with the gel and all. There is a big screen TV in the room. Also you can bring your own music that will get recorder onto the DVD as it is made. We brought a bunch of our own piano and classical music. 4. when i had mine done with both pregnancies they were the same, they just switched a switch on the machine to make it 3d/4d
  5. yes, they are done the same way as a regular one. at 20 wks you can get one done. I had one at 15, and I could tell the shape of my baby's nose. it was pretty cool.
  6. Yeah it's exactly the same. The machine is actually the same one that they use for regular ultrasounds but they flick a switch and change over to 3d mode. If I were you I'd go to a commercial place instead of a medical facility. I paid 100 dollars at ultrasona of columbus ohio and got a 15 minute video of the baby with lullabye music and written title like:hand, face, girl!, her name...Everything. The room had a queen sized bed to lay on, a 50" flat screen to watch the baby and a big L couch for family. AMAZING time! Have fun!
