Do 3D glasses you get at the theaters work on movies at home that have a 3D option? Such as Coraline?

We got some 3D glasses from the theater, the ones you throw away. Were trying to use them on a home television an were trying to watch Coraline and it is not working.

2. if the glasses are the kind that have two dark lenses, and sort of look like sunglasses, then no. these are polarized glasses, and need a special screen and video source. the ones you need to watch Coraline, and other 3d movies at home, then you need the kind of glasses that have one red and one blue lens.
3. i got coraline in 3d and my glasses have pink and green lenses so maybe thats why its not working. it also takes about 15 minutes for your eyes to fully adjust to the movie. so if they have the red and blue lenses they wont work.
