Can we watch our own videos on 3D television..?

Or is it only certain things that come on tv?

1. Yes you can, but the images will be in normal 2D.
2. Any time your video source is in 2d it will be 2d on the tv. Just think of 3d as a feature on the television. It will only display 3d if your video source is in 3d, otherwise the 3d setting will be turned off.
