- I would skip the 3D I have heard that after about an hour of viewing some people get a bit sick, dizzy...for me I like to go to the theater to see the 3D, I think if you put your money towards a better picture it will pay off in the long run.........Ren

- The UN46C9000 *is* a 3D set. See the Samsung link below. But to your basic question, whether you decide on a 2D or 3D set should be determined by how important 3D is to you, how willing you are to watch it with the required active-shutter glasses, and whether you're willing to pay the extra cost for those things. Answer those questions for yourself and you'll know which way to go.
- The difference between the two? The C8000 has a precision dimming feature, and the C9000 does not. Precision dimming will brighten / darken the screen at precise spots. Example, if you're watching a scene on the beach, it will brighten the backlight on certain spots on the screen to make it seem more realistic, and shutdown the lights in specfic spots to simulate a dark scene. Without this feature, the TV will still dim / brighten, but it wont be precise. If a basketball is flying across the screen, it will brighten the whole middle of the screen, instead of just the basketball. Long story short, the C8000 is a better TV. The C9000 is a "designer" model, made for people who want to have a nice looking TV. Get the C8000
