Samsung 3D LED TV vs Sony 3D LED TV?

I deciding to get a 3D LED TV, I found the Samsung 8000 series very good and the Sony NX 900 that's coming this summer. I can't decide between them. Anybody own the Samsung 8000s?? I heard people say that Samsung products have a bad quality. Anyone?

  1. I am a TV technician and for the price the Samsung TV's offer you the best value. Sony is not bad, but you are paying more for the name on it. By the way Sony doesn't make LCD panels. They purchase the panels from Samsung, LG or a factory in China. My personal prefrence is Samsung. The best thing to do is go to Sears or Best Buy and do a side by side comparison. You will see for the dollar value Samsungs rock. I would also get an extended warranty no matter what. The LCD panels can fail and only are warranted for 1 year so if it fails the second year you will pay more to replace the panel than you would to purchase 2 new televisions. Good luck..
  2. Sony only offer high end model LED, while Samsung offer medium model led as well, Sony is too behind in TV this day, Samsung already had 3D TV at the market.
  3. samsung has the best tvs. and the best prices.
  4. At this time I would not buy a 3D tv, due to the price are still high and it is a new technology. I would wait another year so they can iron out any problems it might have. Anything that is new in the market also carries a high price. When the first Plasma tv came out it was in the $20,000 range and now it is in the $600 range for a 42". Look at the first dvd players, it was in the $1,000 mark and blu ray disc the same. I do favor the Samsung brand over the Sony, Sony also has a poor customer service support center compare to Samsung. The Top of my list would be Panasonic. Go online to Home theater magazine and read the reviews on tvs along with the pro and con of Plasma and LCD/LED tvs. You will notice that Panasonic has a tv recommended in each price category of entry level to the high end. While Samsung, Sony and Toshiba (the other top brands) did not (April issue). If you read yahoo questions, you will notice that 95% of the tv problems are from LCD/LED tvs and 95% of those are from off brands. Hope this will help you out.
  5. I would recommend you Samsung 8000 series they are good one to get http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html?ie=UTF8&location=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.amazon.com%2Fs%3Fie%3DUTF8%26redirect%3Dtrue%26ref_%3Dsr%5Fnr%5Fp%5F72%5F0%26keywords%3Dsamsung%25203d%2520tv%25208000%26bbn%3D172282%26qid%3D1272573883%26rnid%3D1248877011%26rh%3Dn%253A172282%252Ck%253Asamsung%25203d%2520tv%25208000%252Cp%5F72%253A1248879011&tag=bestdeals-y-20&linkCode=ur2&camp=1789&creative=390957
