When is the best week to get a 3D/4D ultrasound?

I am 24 weeks and 4 days pregnant and want to know when would be the best week to get my 3D/4D ultrasound? I have to set up an appointment next week so what do you all think?

  1. I would say around 30weeks give or take a few. You want the baby to start getting the chubbiness on it's face so you can see what it will actually look like :) Good Luck! AND Congratulations!

  3. I had one done at 32 weeks by my doctor. I got a great view of the baby. I've always heard between 28-32 weeks.
  4. It depends on your reasons for doing the ultrasound. If you want to get a decisive gender determination, if you are seeking the most accurate morphology results or if you just want pretty pictures. Contact the company/hospital, where you are doing your ultrasound, explain your reasons for wanting the scan, and then ask them their opinion. They do this professionally, so they will definitely know the right answer for your specific circumstances. I was told to have mine at 20 weeks, I need mine for dating conformation and morphology. Id also like the sex determined. Of course the 3D images are a great bonus too but weren't my first priority. Your situation may be different, in which case the right time for you to have yours - may be different. Just make the phone call - thats the best way.
  5. I was told to get one between 28 and 32 weeks. I went for my first one at 29 weeks and my son didn't cooperate.. So we went back at 31 weeks and it was great!
  6. The place that I am planning on going to also told me that 30 weeks is ideal. It's hard to wait, but I know it will be worth it :)
  7. 28 weeks is the best time to go, because they still look kind of scary at 24 weeks.
