3D - 2

Is it possible to see 3D if you blind in 1 eye?

I was born with a cataract in my left eye that no one discovered till I was 7. I had corrective surgery & laser surgery but my brain never connected. Im 20 now and I haven't been to an eye doctor in 10 years. I was wondering if they have anything new that they are able to do. And I was wondering if you can still see 3D with only 1 eye.

  1. No, you need vision in both eyes to see 3D. The brain needs two spatially separated images to perceive the depth of 3 dimensions. It's just like you need 2 ears to listen to stereo sound.
  2. I think you can see 3D with one eye.. I mean, How do you think artists create 3D images on paper? Paintings and such? It is all about light and darkness. So yes, I would definitely think you could see 3D. EDIT: Aah Okay :$, Just ignore me Heheh :P
  3. Jmax is right, you need two points of vision to see depth. that's why with only one eye, it's easier to calculate depth if you rock your head back and forth. Sitruc - depth isn't about light and darks, it's spatial orientation. lighting is irrelevant. you can still use logic and know if something is far away. but to see depth you need two reference points.
