Whats the difference between level 2 ultrasound and a 3d ultrasound?

I need to go for a Level 2 ultrasound this week. A cousin's friend had one and came back with pictures that looked like the 3d ultrasound pictures. I've been looking all over online and I can seem to get an accurate answer. If any one knows and cares to share that would be WONDERFUL!!!

1. Level two they look for more things and things in more depth. Many times this is done at a high risk doctor's office. The equipment is generally better than your standard office. And that being said, since the equipment is good advanced many times these machines have 3D and 4D capabilities. I am high risk when pregnant due to a clotting disorder. So when pregnant I have multiple Level 2 scans. My doctor would do the necessary checks with 2d and then always do a little 3d and 4d just for fun at the end of the appointments. Likely this is what happened with your cousin's friend.
2. i had 2nd level pregnancy it's just to watch things like the heart, kidney, brain, etc. my daughters father has a heart murmur so they had to watch and make sure she wouldn't have one. a 3D ultrasound is the most amazing thing, most view of your baby. makes her look more visible
