Can you watch advertised 3d movies in 2d?

I was wondering, can you watch movies like Resident Evil Afterlife in 2d? Are all the movies advertised in 3d only watchable in 3d in the movie theaters? or can you watch all of them in 2d also? Or is there a mix of some watching in 2d and some only in 3d?

1. you can generally watch a 3d movie in 2d in theater's at the same time and it's usually cheaper
2. I think they usually have a 3D showing and then a 2D showing at the same time.. in the same theater. I think some theaters don't usually have the 3D option, but have the 2D.
3. Depends on the city and how many screens it has. If you have a larger multiplex like our city of say about 12 or 15 screens, then they have a 2d and 3d showing of a 3d movie all day. Reason, the projector being used has to be a digital 3d projector. If it is not a 3d projector then the movie has to be shown in 2d. So it totally depends on how many screens and how many, if any, 3d projectors their are. Across the nation a 3d movie shows on more 2d screens than it does 3d screens, especially if more than one 3d movie is being shown. There are only so many 3d projectors out there.
