Do you need to watch a 3D television in 3D, or can you watch it like a standard TV?
I am going to upgrade my television, And this was a major question I have had. Because, The 3D gimmick has never fully worked for me, (Something to do with my eyes.) especially the Anaglyphic, R/B 3d. So, 3d movies I would love to watch in 3d, But only that. If I can't switch back to just plain SD TV, I'd never buy one. So help a Mettaur out here. D:

- Yes you can watch it like a standard tv in 2D without the glasses. However if you're watching something in 3d with the glasses, people without glasses won't see the picture properly.
- 3DTVs will allow you to watch anything in regular 2D.
- All 3D tvs can be switch to normal when you are not watching a 3D movie using your 3D blu ray disc player. The 3D technology is so new that the manufacturer have not been able to agree on one standard. The price is still high for the tv and the blu ray disc player, beside that 3D movies are limited to animated Disney movies. I would wait another year and the price should drop and the manufacturer all in the same line in the 3D. Hope this will help you out.
- I have a 60 inch Samsung 3D LED, and the 3d is optional, its a button you press and then you put on the glasses. You can also watch movies in SD, and you can watch cable tv in 3d, as long as it is in HD.
- This is a common mistake that people make, that 3d tv has to be watched in 3d all the time with 3d glasses on. No. The show has to be in 3d for you to have to wear the 3d glasses. All channels you are watching now, can only be watched in 2d, and so the 3d tv has to show these channels in 2d as well. So no glasses required in this case.
