3Ds max renderings to Adobe Premier Pro CS5?

I'll be making something on 3Ds max, the I will render it and save it as an AVI (normally using the Cinepaks codec for Radius or whatever that compressor is called). I will then try to import it into the Adobe Premier Pro and it will say that is damaged or what not? Could I get some help here please? and what AVI compressor should I use will rendering on 3Ds max? Every time I render it and save it looks terrible.

  1. Your problem is 3D's max andtrying to use Cinepaks for Codec This is why your getting a notification that you have damaged files. Premiere will and can use several different Formats. Premiere is for professional use in the motion picture Industry for Video TS Format, and not generally used for cartoon rendering. Those that do as in Pixar and Dreamworks have and use a hundred software engineers that work on all aspects of there animation. That's the reason your having issues.
  2. If you're using MAX 2010, I suspect that the .avi file that is being created is a "type 1" avi file. You can test this out, by getting a free program called "g-spot" http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ It's just an .exe that you start up. Drag and drop you avi onto the window and it will tell you what type you have. If you need to convert to "type 2" go get "dvdate" http://paul.glagla.free.fr/dvdate_en.htm Be sure to check the settings (F10) key as they are set for PAL and not NTSC. The files are clean and easy to run. Best wishes....
