Does the brand and type of 3d tv you buy affect quality?
1.does the type of 3d tv (plasma LED etc.) and brand affect the quality of the 3d 2. does it matter more on the glases

- Right now 3D is still so new, there really isn't enough data to really compare different sets. In addition, the glasses must be from the same manufacturer as the 3D blu-ray player, and again, there are so few players out there, it's going to be awhile before it's possible to really do any comprehensive comparisons. The fact that there are only 4 3D blu-ray titles in the world and they're not available in stores, doesn't help things any. IMHO, unless you MUST buy a new TV now or within the next 3-5 years, judge it on its regular 2D capabilities. If it's 3D-capable - good for you. If not, don't worry about it. The technology just isn't ready for consumers, and at its current progression, is going to be nothing more than a niche of the blu-ray niche.
- Wait a year or so to buy a 3D setup. There's one in the works now that doesn't require those special glasses that are $175.00 a pair. You don't need to jump on that bandwagon today. Give it time to mature. Besides, there are only a handful of DVD Blu-Ray discs in 3D on the market now. They "say" the TV will simulate 3D on broadcast channels, but the couple I've seen didn't do a very good job with that.
- I actually just recently made a website dedicated to 3d tvs and how they are useful many different ways. www.absolute3dtv.com
