I am planning on building my own computer for running 3d modeling software.....What hardware should i get?
I dont know much about specific specifications but i have some knowledge of the basic design of a p.c.. As far as software i'll mainly be running AutoDesk Inventor and the likes.

- Get the fastest processor you can get - which would be an Intel i7 at this point.
- Get a good CPU- something from the Intel i7 family of CPUs and a decent ATX motherboard, consider these 2 pieces of hardware together carefully- IMO don't skimp on these as they are the foundation of your build- make a worthwhile investment here. I have a couple of PCs I build a while ago using ASUS P7P55D-E Pro mobos with i7-860 2.8GHz CPUs although these are becoming dated now and there is better stuff out there. I use one for graphics work and gaming and my hubby uses the other for AutoCAD, ASUS make great mobos IMO. Get lots and lots of RAM, you will most likely want to run Win 7 64bit to support the lots and lots of RAM (certainly north of 4GB) you will need and want for your work. You don't really have to go for bleeding edge graphics card for ACAD etc, a decent midrange card is fine.
