Why would you need a 3D tv when most movies that release with 3D will work fine on a regular tv?

Last one i watched that came out 3D on dvd was Journey to the Center of the Earth.. Had no problem watching it in 3D.. Now they talk like you must have a 3D tv lol

1. The 3d TVs can make any program 3D. Plus the glasses that they use are far higher quality than those red/blue garbage glasses that come with 3D movies.
2. Regular tv's can only show 3d movies with 2 colored glasses like red and cyan(green blue) or green and magenta. However most people don't like the 2 colored glasses 3d. If you want the tinted glasses then you 1. have to have a tv that can do it, or 2. add hardware like a convertor box to your current tv to use them. With tinted glasses it does not ruin the color of the movie like the 2 colored glasses 3d for Journey to the Center of the Earth 3d dvd.
