What is the deal with all the 3D movies coming out?

Just curious as to what is up with all these 3D movies coming out. I know technology is more advanced now, but I cannot wait to see what comes next! Any takes on this?

1. they can justify charging more for a3d movie, even though it doesnt cost hardly any extra to make a 3d movie
2. There will be 4D movies coming out, where not only the screen will look 3D but you can also feel like you're really involed with the t.v by having sense of smell as if you're really there!
