What CAD software is best for Automotive and Aviation design and manufacturing?

What CAD software or combination of software is best for the process of designing to eventually manufacturing. I'm new at CAD I have solid works 2010 but I have been reading that CATIA or Rhino might be better for Auto and Aviation. Any help is appreciated.

  1. Autodesk Maya is considered by some to be the premeir automotive design tool. See link for an example. The Art Center School of Design in Pasadena is a great place to study automotive design.
  2. The most easy CAD is Inventor (only my opinion, compared with Solid, Catia, AutoCad Mechanical), but it is only CAD and CAE (Inventor has CAE - only in the last versions). It is simple for modeling and very good for assembling. Certainly, Catia has a lot of additional functions, but it is not better, than Inventor or Solid Works in CAD.
