How do you get a 4d scan of your baby, and does it cost money?

Just wondering how you go about getting a 4d scan, when it is best etc and I've heard it's quite expensive?! Any info please people!!! :) xo

  1. You have to find places in your area (I did this via the internet). They usually recommend I believe between about 25-32 weeks for the best results. And yes, they can be pricey, for my previous pregnancy I got a great special for $ 99.00, but for my current pregnancy I believe it was a little over $ 200.00, you'll just have to shop around for the best deal!! I don't regret it either time it was well worth the cost to me. Best wishes and hope you find a great place :)
  2. I had a high risk pregnancy, I didn't pay anything for mine. Insurance covered it. Best to get one after 28 weeks.
  3. I had a very high risk pregnancy and was always stressing about the pregnancy. the dr that i saw did my 4d for free. i had one at 28 weeks one at 32 and one at 37 weeks. some places or certain types of insurance will cover the cost to do them. you just have to look around and find a place that will do it for free or very cheap. before my dr told me he was going to cover the cost of mine the cheapest i had found was 400 for a 5 minute session, 1 picture and no video. i think it varies depending on where you live.
  4. My wife was a 'high risk' pregnancy with the twins so they did a 3D ulrasound every couple of weeks. After they were born I discovered that as long as miltiples are normal the doctor's refer to 'Baby A' as the first one they found that day and the second was always 'Baby B.' They only track which one is which if there is a problem. As a result we have a stack of ultrasound pictures and have no idea which baby the pictures are for. If we had to do it again we would go to one of the places that advertise the non-medical ultrasound pictures and get the really nice looking pictures.
