What's easiest program to use when starting 3D modeling?
I've been using autocad for 3 years. I am ready to start some 3D modeling. What's a good program that is easy to start learning on?

- google sketchup is probably the best starter, because it's free and fairly easy to use with lots of help documentation and support for many OS's. Also, the many FAQ and help forums help to get started quickly
- I have used many software packages, including 3DS Max. Have to say it will be more familiar to you after AutoCAD. The easiest is Sketchup to get you thinking in 3 axis. My favorite one for modeling is free, Blender. I would rather make mesh models with Blender. Over Maya, 3dS, SoftImage, Rhino, Lightwave, Wings3D and others.
- If you are already familiar with AutoDesk Software I would suggest AutoDesk Inventor. It all depends on what you want to do with the program. Inventor is a very powerful 3D modeling program and is widely used. There are also many tutorials to help you learn the software. Google sketch is also a good alternative if Inventor is not a feasible option. Sketch up has its limitations but does do a good job.
- Try with Free Blender My Blender Artwork.
