3D - 2

Do you think Disney will bring back classic 2D animation movies?

Disney had been the forerunner for 2d animation since the 50s. However, they've been pushing towards 3D animation since the 90s. With the recent live action flop, Mars Needs Moms, do you think Disney will reconsider going back to 2d animation? Why or why not?

  1. While 2D may be phased out in the theaters, tv channels and dvds will be sure to still offer 2D for at least a decade to come. This is because 3D tvs are expensive and corporate America knows full well that most people will be watching 2D for many years to come.
  2. yes but not for much longer
  3. If most audiences require, your advice may come true.
  4. Not regularly, but considering that The Princess and the Frog was a success, I'd imagine they probably haven't completely shut the door on the possibility, its just that if they do continue with 2D, its going to be maybe 1 every couple of years when they have a very good story that will be sure to bring in the money. Remember, prior to the Princess and the Frog, the last few 2D animated movies did not perform very well, but I imagine, enough people are probably getting annoyed with everything being CGI, so you never know....
  5. With Pixar on their side with movies like Monster Inc. and Toy Story plus the Finding Nemo along wit Cars? Keep dreaming that plus live actions movie Pirates of Carribean sequels and Tron Legacy?Let me remind you that Walt Disney himself nor his bloodline is running the company anymore...
  6. Nah, I highly doubt that with the technology nowadays. People love to watch 3D movies now so why go back to 2D?? Toy Story 3 was 3D and everybody loved it. Didn't you noticed that every single movie that got out in theaters are mostly 3D?? But I did love the classic 2D.
