do i need to wear 3d glasses everytime with a 3d tv?

so i know that if you have and want to watch a movie in 3d you would need a 3d tv and glasses. but is it true that even if your watching a regular non-3d movie etc. on a 3d tv you will still need to wear the glasses or it will be blurry?
