How can I tell which is active or passive 3d tv?

Before buying a new 3D TV, how can I tell which model is the active 3D TV and which one is the passive 3D TV?

1. You have to ask the salesman, and if he's not sure, ask him to show you the 3d glasses for the TV, then you will distinguish if it's passive or active 3D. Passive glasses and lightweight and does not need any battery while active glasses and heavy and requires battery to work. In some cases, like in Sony, you will know it's active because it uses transmitter (sold separately) to send signal on your Active 3D glasses. Otherwise you will not know what kind of 3D by just looking at it.
2. right now... the lg 5000 series is the only passive available
