is the 2gb nvidia geforce vga card suitable for 3d modeling/rendering/cad?

i'm going to buy dell xps l502 but i have 2 questions about it..is the 2gb nvidia geforce good e enough for 3d modeling and graphic softwares? and does any one know does the dell company release l502 with 8gb ram too? the specifications are: 8gb ram / core i7 740QM / 2gb nvidia geforce 540/ 740 HDD i would like to know all of ur other suggestions too :)

1. Do not buy a Dell for the love of god, Get a HP Dv6 - 7 they are fast and there customer support is really good, i broke a key on my'n and so a rang them and they came and took it the next day and i got it back within a week with all new key's, and they covered it under warranty!
