Are there any features or warnings of older people watching 3D TV?
My parents are old but they have been hinting on wanting a 3D TV set. Are there any special features/warnings I should be interested/concerned about?

- Not specifically for the elderly. However people with some forms epilepsy and migraines may have issues with 3D triggering seizures.
- a 3d tv is just a 2d tv with an option to watch films and some programs in 3d,, you do NOT wear the glasses all the time
- Depending on their eyes and eyeglass prescriptions, they may experience some flickering with some types of 3d glasses and some people get headaches and are annoyed by the process used to create the 3d. They should go to a local store and try out the glasses and the tv, sit for a while, and see what they think. Of course, they can turn off the 3d, but testing first is a good idea.
- Elderly people have sensitive eyes so you should look into passive model TVs. Active models use shutter glass that flashes very quickly and will cause strain, if not damage, to the eyes of the elderly. The glasses are also lightweight for extra comfort. I would recommend a Vizio passive 3D TV only because it is slightly cheaper, but if you want the ultimate gift, get an LG cinema 3D TV because the remote and 3D menu interface is easier and way more complete than a Vizios. You don't want your parents calling you everyday asking how to change the volume or settings.
