3D Passive Glasses switching brands?

I am considering buying a 3D tv with Passive glasses (Philips) does anyone know if Passive glasses from other brands work or does it have to be Philips?

1. I don't know for sure, but I would bet, yes, you can mix and match passiv glasses. You can even nick them from the cinema.
