1. Philips is an offshore, low-cost brand which is priced to please but due to sacrificed quality may not last as long as name brands such as Sony, Samsung, LG, Sharp, Hitachi, Panasonic and others. You get what you pay for. I personally would not buy a Philips, Sylvania, RCA, GE, Westinghouse, and others.
