How early can a 3D Ultrasound determine the gender of a baby?

I will be 16 weeks on Friday and I really would like to find out the sex of my baby! I just don't want to have it done too early and have them not be able to tell. I was also thinking to go next week when I am 17 weeks, just for a better chance. Has anyone had a 3D ultrasound? And if so, how early and did you find out the gender of your baby? Thanks!!

1. a majority of ultrasounds wont be able to tell you the sex till between 18 and 20 weeks i would go when you are 18 weeks.. my sister will be 18 weeks in 2 weeks time and is going to find out the sex at this point they are big enought to determine but not too big to be blocking it out you dont want to go too early and be disappointed.. good luck x
2. on any sonogram you know the babies gender especially the 3D one.. 3months is when you know the gender.. and try getting it done now because sometimes the babies legs will be closed or your baby put his/her hand between the legs and it looks like a boy.. make sure to look for 3 tiny lines (girl).. (I got my first sonogram @ 25weeks!) and you have to go get another sonogram date.. etc.,,
3. thye usaully wait for 20 weeks to do the sex determining ultrasound, it is a little easier then to tell the diffrence between boy and girl, boys they can be very very accurate, almost 100 percent, but girls they cant be, because, well girls really dont have any "privates" that protrude
4. an ultrasound is an important medical procedure that is extremely useful for examining the health of your baby. When you go for your US remember that the specialist performing the procedure is doing something much more important and involved than simply trying to figure out the gender of your baby.

In India to identify gender of baby is an offence. in ultrasound, normally after 15 month baby , we can identify its body part, but it is require vary experience to identify boy or girl child, because if at the place of leg if U can see three lines then it is boy, and u may see only two lines then it is girl. in the small baby case it is tuff to identify, so doctors are asked to wait for take firm decision for gender. OK....
6. try 18 weeks ,dont waste ur money this early......be happy tho and it will come
7. i went at 16 weeks 4 days, and good see their parts both pregnancies. the u/s tech usually reccomends 17 weeks, so if you can wait that long that do it then. just remember the longer you wait the better the u/s will be and easier the "parts" will be able to be seen
