How can I take a scene created in 3D Studio Max 8 and work on it in 3D Studio Max 9?

I want to keep my Materials and I want to be able to go back and forth between the two programs. (One is used on campus, the other here at home) Is there anything I can do to accomplish this?

1. this is the major problem faced by college going students.alright you can always work with lower version file to a higher version try to avoid the other way around .better option would be just try to finish most of yours work at home.
