3d studio?

I like 3d modeling, and i have 3d studio max. there is another thing called 3d studio. 3d studio max doesn't open it's files, so does any1 have any davice on where to download it or convert it's files (if such way exists)? There are such files that are called .3ds, and cannot be opened by 3d studio max.

1. There is no such program called "3d studio". Read edit below. Edit by responder.... There are NO files called .3ds that CANNOT be opened by 3d studio max unless they are damaged or corrupt or you software is out of date. You may be trying to open the file incorrectly. If you are unaware, 3ds files are mesh files, not scene files and cannot be opened as such. Please use the file-> import option to open such files.
