legal to get a copy of 3d studio max from a freind?

ok. I've been looking for some good software for 3d animation...and a fri9end of mine said that he has 3d studio max on his harddrive, and if i want, i could copy it to one of my blank CD's. Now, this is a pretty good guy where talking about here, and he wouldn't do anything illegal intentionaly. So i'm pretty convinced that it's legal. What do you guys think?

1. It's obviously not legal.If you go by what the license agreement for 3DS max says.
2. No its not legal to copy from him... you can ask max company to give an additional license on basis of original license & they may offer you an discount

4. Ok it is not legal... AT ALL. besides if he already has it on his hard drive .. then most probably he downloaded a pirate version... and 3DS max pirate versions will start bugging ur system. It will not work smoothly. However ... if you dont wanna pay $3000+ for a 3Ds MAX .. ten i would suggest an open source program which is free.. it is called blender and i use it on linux .. there is a windows version 4 it.. you can try the link here. http://blender.org/cms/Home.2.0.html it is as good as 3DS MAX if not faster.... an excellent open source software....... If you decide to ge the perated 3DS MAX .. you will not run it smoothly..and you will not get any support.... The pirte version onie that are being uploaded are budled up with hidden softwares that will load up on ur registry files.- oe so i heard-. Its a 3000+ $ program so the consequences will be harsh.. :) try blender out and ull thank me later.. its a wonderful software :) and as good as it gets... its Free - opensource .. im sure you heard of openoffice.org <<< linux programers are the best.
5. sure it's illegal to copy 3dsmax from your friend. but that doesn't mean he has a pirated max cuz he can backup his software on another CD or on his hard drive. NOW you can: - go to autodesk website and download the FREE demo and use it for a limited time. or - IF you want it to discover the software and learn it AND you won't use it for work THEN it won't ever harm autodesk or your system. BUT remeber to purchase the software if you want to use it for WORK. good luck
