What is a good labtop that is around/about $1,000 that is good for 3D programs such as Maya?

1. lot of RAM, at least 1 Gigabytes, more is better. Check that it works with the graphic card it has (see weblink also for other recommendations). Probably Craigs list to buy used or ebay (though scams are not infrequent there, so be careful). Buying yesterdays model instead of todays will save you plenty of $$
