Why do 3d shooters only get 1-5 frames per second?

Do I need a driver update for the radeon? I downloaded the latest but it does nothing useful. I do not get the advanced controls to turn off v-sync or a/a and this and that. The latest radeon driver does not support the x1600 for macs yet appearantly? Is this true? I can't find anything on the internet about it. I'd really like to see what this puppy has. 1. I assume you are playing these games in Windows under Bootcamp? If so, that's your problem. The performance of windows on a mac is very poor. It's good enough for office applications, but not for gaming. You could try reducing the resolution or turning off effects to speed up the framerate.
  2. I think that is pretty normal , the X1600 is a very cheap and bad GPU. I tried 2 of them and they both were sub-par.
