hi-fi vs. stereo video camera?

which is better?? and what the difference??

1. All digital type camcorders have high quality stereo sound recording. The old analog camcorders (VHS, BetaMovie, etc) recorded a mono linear track. A few would also record a stereo HiFi audio which requires a HiFi VCR to play back. Linear track audio is poor quality because of the very slow recording speed of the tape.
