I just had a new car stereo put in.I am getting a lot of feedback from my engine. What can I install to fix it

I am not looking for the cheapest solution, I want the best solution to the problem. The factory installed stereo made no noise. The new one (A high end stereo/ dvd player/ iPod player/ backup camera/ bluetooth phone) is 'whining' as the engine speed changes. Any help?

  1. Take it back to the shop, there is a noise reducer in radios like this, and they probably wired it wrong.
  2. Check to make sure you have your ground hooked up right. This is more than likely the problem.
  3. Simple problem, so simple solution. You have an earthing issue. Simply check the earth (ground) from the stereo. If that is fine, check the earth from the battery (making sure you don't put anything conductive across the terminals!). If that's fine, check the aerial is grounded. If all your ground/earth connections are good, there is something wrong with the head unit.
  4. The installer didn't strap a good ground to it. the noise you hear is from the ignition so the more RPM's the louder the noise.
  5. They sell a device you can install on the stereo that cuts the noise go to your local auto parts store or the store you purchased the stereo from and see if they have it. If not you can always find it at Wal-mart it may be cheap but it works
  6. Take it back to where you just had it put in, and ask them to correct their problem. Sounds like ignition or alternator noise, which seems to indicate a poor job of installation or inferior parts (cables) that are not properly shielded or grounded.
