Sony HDR-SR7 and Rode Stereo Videomic Help?

I am looking at buying a Sony HDR-SR7 but have read alot of bad reviews about the microphone not having a wind guard. I was always going to but an external mic and was pretty keen on a Rode Stereo Videomic. The only problem is in some reviews i have read it has said that the HDR SR7 only accepts Sony type shoe mounts. Is this true? And if it is is there another way to mount this mic on the camera OR are there any good sony brand microphones?

1. I have the same problem (for the same mic!!) and found this link for the Adorama Universal Cold Shoe Adapter for Sony Type AIS (Active Interface Shoe) Hot Shoe. The store, Adorama, is here in New York City. PS - I love Sony but don't get their mics... stick to their cameras
