using adobe premier pro 2.0, how do i get a stereo/5.1 dvd output?

ive been using the premier pro 2.0 to create dvds out of combined video clips and digital still images(using sony DV handycan and a sony digital still camera). basically, all i do is arrange the clips and the still images, add some video effects(ive never done audio effects), then add background music(in mp3 format). that is all. i have finished about 4 dvds but all have mono audiooutput. when i watch the finished dvds on my dvd player(panasonic), sound only comes from the left speaker. follow up: when i watch the finished dvd on TV(sharp LCD), i can see scan lines along the outline of the subject specially when he makes a significant movement. can i eliminate it?
