what free 3d game making software is there to download and where cani get it from?

i am interested in creating 3d games like gta that have free roam and they have cars on

1. There's no such thing. All games are written in code, with languages such as C and C++. You can't purchase a program and drop bits in place like a lego set. You must crawl before you walk, so just learn about computers, learn the logic behind program writing and start off will simple stuff like writing a program that says "Hello World". Basic is a good starting programming language.
2. Hi, You can start by creating some models in Maya Personal Learning edition which is free, or similar (3d Studio Max, etc) and then you would have to somehow program them using as said c and c++ or equivilent... Not sure on that bit myself. Good luck
