How can I make 3D text wrap around a globe?

I need to make a word look like it's wrapping around a globe with a 3D effect. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there a tutorial somewhere? Is there a fairly simple 3D modeling program I could use (preferably free, but not necessary) Thank you in advance!

1. Don't do that its cheese,amateur like try just putting the type below the globe.
