Do you think that being ugly can be a good thing???

I know it sounds crazy but for me I would say yes ^__^ . I have always felt ugly, unwanted and stepped over. It was like no matter what I do I would feel less in comparison with other cool and handsome guys weather at school or college. until I realized that me being ugly actually gives me a constant motivation to work on myself and become the best and the most successful person that I can ever be. yes, I do spend lots of time in my house but I use it well, for ex. studying more hours, study investing and busieness, drawing and modeling in 3d max, finding a new hobby .....and I won't attract girls for the wrong reasons :) what do you guys think? I'm not the pick of the litter either, and yeah, I take it as a blessing. Because at least I know who likes me for me, and not for my looks or my money or my popularity. I have real friends who like me for my personality, and that, is a blessing. Keep up the good work, I wish you the best

I dont think anyone is ugly. There are some people who are more attractive..but ugly is just simply an ugly word.

I prefer "ugly" guys, not that there are such things! Everyone is beautiful to someone, but pretty boys tend to be more in love with themselves, less faithful and on the whole, to be avoided! :-)
If you are a good person, you're not half as ugly as someone who looks good but is just rotten.
I'm not sure about ugly, but plain is good. I'm definately glad I'm not beautiful, because that would be a life of being used.

Yes. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I am sure there is someone out there for you. Until then, focus your priorities on studies, money and your hobbies. You will have your life in order before you find true love. That is a good thing!! Take care and have a great 2008!!!
Ugly is not a good thing and not a bad thing really, im butt ugly, people treat me like crap on their shoe but from 33% of the school i get respect its just the retards who have a go at u coz ure ugly, they're just jelous, lol ^_^

To some degree. I honestly think that "beautiful" people do not develop themselves fully, they learn to get by on their looks.
Comming from a girl if you feel ugly then go get a makeover it doesnt matter what u look like inside counts Yes you can be sucessful but you to be sociable and outgoing and you still can be smart at everything

Man, looks are a double edged sword. If you have them, if you get into a relationship, you have all these other people who don't look at you for who you are trying to get in your pants and stuff like that. Trust me, my girlfriend's looks are starting to annoy me because of exactly what I said. I have people tell me to wait somewhere and ask her out. She obviously turns them down telling them she's in a commitment, but then they start crying.... and it's just so annoying lol... It happens at least onces a week... meh. Sometimes i find it hard myself to look through her looks and see what she's thinking instead of myself.... meh. lol. So yeah, sometimes I wish my girlfriend wasn't as good looking as she was, but that's me.

Why, yes it is! :D I'm ugly meself, and I'm loving almost every moment of it. Like you said, it really motivates you to try and become the best person you can be- though I can't do much about looks, I do try my best on schoolwork while the more popular people are out partying. There's a reason why I'm getting better grades than them. LOL.

I think being ugly could be a good thing. At least you would know that people aren't just hanger ons, or just trying to bed you for your looks. Your friends would definately be people who would be worth knowing as they have got to know the real you. I don't know how many people will agree with me but looks are not everything. Give me Ricky Gervais over Jude Law any day!!!!
In my opinion, there is no such word as ugly. It's the inside that matters, don't care what others think. As some people might have told you, some people are more attractive than others. But you know, that you are a nice person. No one is ugly. We are all different, and be thankful that you are your own person:D. Hope this helps...

People sometimes look at someone from the outside only, don't you think? I think that people should look more to the INSIDE though. As long as you're clear of dirty thoughts and have a kind heart, you won't have any problems. Ignore people who criticised about your looks because who knows, they're jealous of you.

First let me say that I see no ugliness in the world. To me everyone is precious and beautiful. The closest thing to ugly that I see is the way that some people judge others because of bodily characteristics that no one has any control over. You are not ugly in my world dear friend. I just want to be me and like myself for who i am, because i don't like myself how can i expect others to like me? not in your life time. the thing here is that "ugly" is just a self concept. you think you're ugly, then you are. i used to think that i WAS ugly looking at the other guys. butthen i am not. my genetics tells me i'm not. add to the fact that i am good at many things. look at it this way, you just found good things about you and you are learning to accept your genetic make up. that doesn't sound ugly to me. it will just be ugly when you think you are ugly and you let that fact get into you. just know yourself and be fine. good luck!
