Software/ guide books to learn 3D max,revit, rhino, maya???

i need to learn 3d max rendering and some animation, rhino 3d modeling and some basic maya. is there a book or cd that anyone can recommend? i am using these programs for architecture modeling/rendering purposes. does anyone know a class on these program in los angeles area?
