Is Studio Max 3D software a competitor of Form.Z?
I am making lots of inquiries about getting an electronic 3D model done of a residence (for the architect). He wants it in Form.Z. One company replied that they work in Studio Max and they don't know if it's compatible. Sounds like it's either one or the other, right? Thanks.

- 3DS Max is around because their parent company is AutoCAD and conversely, Max does a good job with architectural stuff. The company recently bought out Maya, another 3D software. Max/Maya are geared for Windows platforms. I jumped over to Form.Z. They claim their software, and they make many, many packages of different capabilities, will run on ANY platform. Which gets us down to what kind of file does each product save? Well, to be in the 3D game any of the softwares have to save out to many different kinds of formats. There is usually some pretty easy answers to transfer back and forth by way of import/export. Form.Z does import 3DS file format. Both the studio that will make the model and the architect that may want to modify the model are compatible.
