3D Studio Max 9 Fur Help?

Hi, i just started learning 3ds max before i go off to uni to do 3d modelling and animation, and was wondering if you lovely people can help. Since its a very easy thing to do, l like making a sphere and applying a fur preset to it, and make a quick animation of it moving about to show off and demonstrate what im doing ect. The problem is that the fur 'falls into' the sphere as if it isn't a solid object . I was wondering how to fix this as it makes the sphere get bald spots through the animation. Thanks alot for reading!

  1. You should have a collision object, that when hair falls makes a collision with that object and can't go through it. For example, since you have a sphere, make another copy of that sphere, (right click on it, select Clone, and in the window that pops up, select Copy, and click OK) Now go to Modify menu> click on hair and fur > Click on Dynamics > Mark Sphere or Polygon > click on Add > select the other sphere. that's it. Now it'll never fall into the sphere =) Here I put a guide pic that might help: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6ZDZXTRI I hope it helps =)
