Blender the 3d modeling program doesnt work.?

I recently installed blender. It didnt work. It said i needed python so i installed python. Blender still didnt work. The error is. I load blender Black screen comes up then a command prompt The command prompt says " Compiled with python 2.5 Checking for installed Python...Got it! " I click X on the command prompt and it closes blender aswell :( I have a dual 3200+ intel processor, nivida 8800gt graphics card 32bit vista home premium with 3.5gig ram ( 6 gig ram installed but i recently changed to 32bit vista ) Any help? and yes i have tried taking ram out... and trying a diffrent graphics card. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqpVAKwZ-l8 theres a video of my loading blender It does work with vista. Iv looked at some forums and they say it works perfectly on vista.

Well, the black console box with the command prompt is normal... it stays open while Blender runs, and in many cases if you have problems exporting files from Blender, you can troubleshoot the problem with the error messages that display in the box. However that full-black screen isn't normal... it should be a greyish-color screen, with a cube in the center of the 3D window, and a buttons panel below... I would recommend uninstalling Blender, then try re-installing it again, something is buggy there.. If that doesn't work, you might try installing one of the older, previous Blender versions... they can be found here: http://www.blender.org/download/get-blender/older-versions/ Good Luck!
