How to get the weight and height o a bulding to make a 3d model in autocad??
like those 3d buldings of yahoo... also, how to draw a scale bulding view from top angle

- Use SDS/2 by Design Data. It'll give you everything you need (if you're dealing with structural steel).
- If its an actual building you can pace or measure from the base out a certain distance. Then use a protractor and string to measure the angle from where you stand to the top of the building. Height = distance * Tan (angle) So you walk out 30 feet from the base, the angle from the ground to the top is 60 degrees: Height = 30 * Tan (60) = 30*1.732 = 52 Building is 52' tall! Weight is tougher. You can measure the volume of the building (length width and height) estimate what percentage of the building volume is steel, concrete, etc and multiply bu the density of each. And drawing top view? That would look like a square - or a rectangle if that's the shape of the building.
